Health Education and Screening for Elderly: Supreme Care's Collaboration with International Health and Wellness Association and AstraZeneca

Supreme Care joined hands with International Health and Wellness Association and AstraZeneca in providing health education and screening for the elderly at the International Women Association’s Yaumatei Neighbourhood Elderly Center.

Dr Joanne Lam (Specialist in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism) delivered a talk on ‘Do you know the relationship between the 3 Highs and Chronic Kidney Disease?’.  Dr Joanne Lam explained the causative and risk factors of hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, and chronic kidney disease.  And of course, how to prevent these diseases and live a healthy lifestyle.  The elderly paid full attention to Dr Joanne Lam’s talk and asked questions promptly.

Screening on hypertension, diabetes, blood lipid and proteinuria were conducted.  Those who have abnormal results were given health counselling and advised to see their family doctor for follow up.  Each elderly was given health education leaflets and a personal medical record with their screening results.
